Welcome to York Parks & Recreation

The mission of the York Parks and Recreation Department (YPRD) is to promote health and wellness of families and the community in all of its diversity. The Parks division is responsible for the operations and maintenance of public buildings and grounds, parks, beaches, recreation facilities and all athletic fields. The Recreation division offers a wide variety of comprehensive community enrichment programs, popular camps, and tremendously successful and well attended events for participants of all ages. Collectively, we are committed to building a vibrant community and our citizens of tomorrow.

Center for Active Living

The Center for Active Living, a division of York Parks and Recreation Department, is located at 36 Main Street in York Beach. The Center is dedicated to providing individuals in our community, age 50 and over, with opportunities to socialize, recreate, learn, and be well through participation in activities and programs that are designed to enrich the mind, body, and spirit.

Mount Agamenticus

 

Since 1999 conservation work at Mount Agamenticus has focused on protecting the natural resources of the area by managing recreational use, remediating trails and habitats, and educating the public.

Thanks to the collaborative conservation efforts of many partners, volunteers, and donors, Mount A has become a wonderful place for the local community to enjoy the outdoors, experience its scenic beauty, and to appreciate its significance as one of “Maine’s Last Great Places.”

Mother Daughter Choir

Ages 10 and up - 2nd Sunday of the Month

Mothers and daughters, aunts and nieces, grandmothers and granddaughters, family friends, and any beloved woman-girl pair. Whether you're connected by blood, love, or community, you're welcome here. We’re meeting as an intergenerational circle of women and girls to celebrate the joy of singing together. We’ll be singing a variety of songs with harmony. This is a judgement-free space. No experience needed, just bring your voice and someone you love.
This group will meet on the second Sunday of the month.

Safe Sitter

Wednesday, February 18th

Must be 11 years-old and up

This curriculum is designed exclusively for young teens and covers safety skills, childcare skills, first aid & rescue skills, and life & business skills. Safe Sitter® courses are instructor-led and interactive, with hands-on demonstrations and skills practice. Your child will be very prepared to start their babysitting career.

Starts February 25th - Grades 2-4 & 5-8

Come sing your heart out! Choose your favorite songs to work on and receive coaching and feedback. The program will end with a small performance for family and friends!

Curtain Callers Production - Grades 2-6

We are excited to showcase all the amazing talents from our community. From acting, singing, dancing, set building, to costume design. Time to put all that theater knowledge into use.
If you would like to donate your time, talent or treasure to our first production please reach out to Megan Milburn at mmilburn@yorkmaine.org We are always looking to add to our production team!

5-Punch $20 / 20-Punch $80 / Annual Season Pass - $200.00

Punch Cards may be used for any punch card required Parks & Recreation programming such as Volleyball, Pickleball, and Adult Basketball.

Punch Cards are available for purchase online or at our office at 200 US Route 1.

CAL Activity Punch Cards

5-Punch $25 / 8-Punch $40.00

Center for Active Living Punch Cards may be used for Punch Card required programming, such as Shake  It Up, Line Dancing, and Balance & Fun Workouts.

Punch Cards are available for purchase at the Center for Active Living Office at 36 Main St.
